Youth Champions Program
Our Youth Fencing Champions program is an unique, and internationally successful pedagogical system developed by 2008 USA Olympic Fencing coach, and 3-time USA Olympian, Maestro Greg Massialas. Our goal is to bring out the champion that exists inside all kids through the Olympic sport and ancient art of fencing.
From Beginner to Olympian
Our Youth Fencing Champions program has the most outstanding proven track record of bringing out the best qualities in our fencers. Our fencers are taught all the necessary individual physical and mental technical skills, discipline, teamwork, and development of their inner spirit, required both for success in fencing and later in life. The core of our program has allowed our fencers to have great success at the Olympic, National, International, NCAA, local and regional level. At the world-class level, our fencers have earned more World Championship Gold Medals than all other programs combined in the history of men’s foil fencing in the USA (since 1896). The sky is the limit. Not everyone will become an Olympian, but their experiences in our program do last a lifetime. Their passion for the sport and their discipline to push themselves in a focused and creative way, will determine what they will attain.
The high profile of our fencing program attracts the attention of most of the top NCAA fencing coaches in elite universities. Our fencers have gone on to win NCAA Championship medals, earn All-American, and All-Ivy League status. From a young age M Team fencers understand that the combination of high scholastic and fencing achievement is the winning combination. Currently, our fencers attend many top universities: Standford, Yale, U. of Penn, NYU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Cal Berkley, and UC San Diego.
#1 Foil Fencing program in the USA
Since the 2001 USA Nationals, our fencers have won more National gold medals than any other foil program in the USA. Overall, our fencers have won a record 72 USA National GOLD medals and a total of 317 USA National Medals!
Olympic Sport of Fencing
Fencing is a safe, individual sport that challenges the mind and keeps the body sharp. Fencers need to use their mind, body, and technical skills to overcome their adversary. They are forced to apply their problem solving skills under very stressful conditions. At the end of the match, they shake hands and go on to fence another day.
International Cross-Cultural Experiences
Our fencers participate in International Camps and competitions all over the world. This way our fencers become young ambassadors and build friendships with fencers all over the world, creating a unique and worldly experience.
USA Fencing Historical Note
The fencers in our program have brought home for USA Fencing, more World Championship Men’s Foil medals than any other program in the history of USA Fencing. In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, our top fencer, Gerek Meinhardt, was the youngest USA Olympic fencer in history.
